Do you need to create a brand for yourself? You might be thinking… What the heck is branding and why in the world would I need to create a brand for myself? How do I create a brand for myself! Do I need a brand strategist or a branding company?
This post isn’t just for Network Marketers! You can be employed, even happily employed you still need to brand yourself! As Gary Vaynerchuk say’s in his book Crush It! “I don’t care if you’re in sales, tech, finance, publishing, journalism, event planning, business development, retail, service, you name it – you will still need to develop and grow your personal brand. Everyone – EVERYONE – needs to start thinking of themselves as a brand. It is no longer an option; it is a necessity.”
So there is Gary V’s opinion but several questions still remain. Let’s focus on why you need to create a brand for yourself.
6 Reasons Why You Need To Brand Yourself
1.) People will be drawn to you!
When you create a brand for yourself people are drawn to you and want to work with you and/or hire you.
2.) Builds credibility!
By building your brand you build credibility. When you build credibility people will trust you and believe in you.
3.) Expands your network!
When you build a powerful personal brand you will make new friends which means you expand your network. People notice you and they can find you.
4.) Builds confidence!
Building your personal brand will require you to identify who you really are, your purpose and your passion. As you focus in on these things you will gain confidence.
5.) Differentiation!
When you brand yourself you position yourself in unique ways that helps you stand out pack. There might be a lot of people selling what you are selling or applying for that job so it’s important you are different from everyone else.
6:) What if?
I’m not one to worry about negatives but let’s just consider the what if’s for a moment. What if something happened to your company? What if you lost your job? By creating a brand for yourself you will be prepared for the unexpected.
Whether you are trying to build your business, find a job, get noticed, impress someone, attract influential people or simply make new successful friends, a powerful, attractive and visible brand is the key. It’s also helps to build your reputation, credibility and most importantly, being successful in your business, professional and personal life.
