Most people think they are doing attraction marketing BUT they’re wrong!
They are spamming information about their products, services and opportunity all over the place like an infomercial…
Sometimes when you are an infomercial you can get a few quick sales and because of that the person thinks they are succeeding so they do more of it to get more sales. WRONG!
Usually those same people that gave you the quick sale would have purchased if you would have reached out to them directly (but being an infomercial is easier.)
When you are an infomercial people get tired of it and eventually ignore you.
You lose all curiosity so when you do reach out to people directly… they often think you are going to try to sell them and convince them to buy/join and they might not even answer or respond back to you.
Always remember… people like to buy things that can help them but they don’t like to be sold to.
Attraction Marketing Tips… Critical Mistake #2
Attraction marketing is not actively building your business. It’s marketing.
Some people are spending more time doing attraction marketing than actually prospecting and having conversations with people.
They are busy creating graphics and posting their infomercial message of the day and then sitting back and waiting for people to come to them…
They are pretending they are working and building their business when they are really hiding, scared of rejection and avoiding the vulnerability that can come from reaching out to people directly.
Working your business is the actual income producing activities like… reach outs, follow ups, enrolling new customers/reps, and training new team members.
Marketing… when done right creates opportunities for you to work your business. It is lead generation.
You should be spending 80% of your time on business building activities and 20% on marketing… most people attempting to do attraction marketing are doing the opposite.
Attraction Marketing Tips… Critical Mistake #3
Ok, so now we know most people are doing attraction marketing wrong.
We now know attraction marketing is NOT actively building your business.
The 3rd critical mistake most people make with attraction marketing is…
They teach attraction marketing to their new team members right away!
Since they are doing it wrong and spending too much time doing it now teaching it to new team members has a negative compounding effect.
What does that mean for your business?
If you and your team are creating graphics, posting them on social media and then sitting and waiting…
Your team isn’t going to grow!
You and your team all need to be focused on the core income producing activities and instead most of you are focused on attraction marketing. Remember the 80/20 rule mentioned above.
Attraction Marketing Tips… Does attraction marketing work?
Yes, when done correctly attraction marketing does work.
But only if you do it right and teach it to your team at the right time!
Here are 6 Attraction Marketing Tips on how to do it right:
- Only spend 20% of the time you allocate to your business on attraction marketing.
- Create curiosity
- Provide value
- Focus on the benefits and how they help solve people’s problems (not what it is… but what it does)
- Only teach attraction marketing to new members after they have been in the business for a few months and they have reached out to the majority of their warm market.
- Continue to do the core income producing activities while doing attraction marketing.
When you learn and use the proper attraction marketing skills (lead generation) and you combine it with consistent prospecting and income producing activities you can light a fire on your business.
Marketing + Prospecting = Results
Attraction marketing alone is not enough. Lead generation alone is not enough.
You need to have conversations with people. Reach out, connect and have conversations with both your warm market and your leads.
